Update: See a few photos from the trip.
Who knew that a city kid like me would enjoy getting out and smelling country air. This weekend Juli and I are headed SW of town to camp overnight with some friends. The kids are going to be hangin’ with Nana Jean for the night. I am fully anticipating getting a nice warm fire going so I can cook my veggie-dogs over an open flame. Photos will be posted as soon as I get them processed.
Mikayla had a wild & crazy sleep-over last night with 6 of her school friends. The party kicked off with Knolla’s Pizza, games and presents. Ice cream sundae’s and root beer floats topped off the evening and gave most kids a nice sugar high before crashing after the movie Elf.
This morning for breakfast we’re having Lamar’s Doughnuts (a great sugary follow up to all the nutritious delectables eaten last night). The kids are currently running around all over the house “decorating” for the party and playing.
Happy Birthday Mikayla. You Rock!
Update: Check out the photos from Mikayla’s first soccer game in our photo gallery.

I’m thrilled to report that Mikayla has followed up last weeks “A+” spelling test with another 100% on this past weeks spelling test. In addition to her incredible knowledge of 2nd grade vocabulary, she is also acing her AR (Advanced Reading) book tests. This past week she absorbed the lives of “Frog and Toad: All Year”. She will be tested on that book next week…but you can rest assure that a perfect score is in her future.
