HP & Goblet of Fire   |  November 26th, 2005

Good stuff. Lots of action and suspense. Although rated PG-13, it’s still suitable for kids. Follows the book closely…from what Juli tells me. Juli will write more later on this review.

Forrest Gump   |  August 30th, 2005

Forrest GumpJuli had an urge to watch this this week. It’s good that she did. It has been so long since I’ve watched it, although I never really forgot how good it is. It’s cool how director Robert Zemeckis centers Forrest in some of the most recognizable instances in history. Watergate, “Sh*t Happens” Slogan, the 80s running-epidemic, Vietnam. All brilliant ideas to incorporate history into a wonderfully-engaging film.

So I mentioned a few of my favorite parts of the movie…what are yours (quotes, scenes, sounds…whatever)?

Pee Wee’s Big Adventure   |  July 24th, 2005

Pee Wee's Big AdventureOne word…Classic. Written by Phil Hartman and Paul Reubens (Pee Wee) and directed by Tim Burton. What…Tim Burton…really? Yeah. After watching this movie for the first time since it’s release, it’s easy to see the “Burtonisms” in the movie. The creepy-flashbacks, the dark under-tones…Large-Marge. It’s all there.

Mikayla laughed her head off…as did Juli and I. Mikayla thought Pee Wee was hilarious. The next day she started quoting lines from the movie…like “Mad Dog, ahhhh!” (from the part when Pee Wee brushes his teeth with an over-sized toothbrush and starts foaming at the mouth). I’m sure we’ll hear more quotes before the week is over.
